Balance Interactive Launches New Website for Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press

Dec. 6, 2011 - PRLog -- Balance Interactive developed a new Drupal-based website for the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press (RCFP).

Balance developers implemented the Drupal content management system to ensure ease of site management and use. The redesign included efforts in web strategy, content, information architecture and interactive design. The new website continues to be an essential media law resource for journalists, lawyers, funders and other key audiences.

A key feature of the new site is the dynamic presentation of content by topic. Visitors can now better access the vast array of resources available to them from RCFP.

For more than 40 years, the RCFP has played a role in nearly every significant press freedom case that has come before the U.S. Supreme Court. The organization is a major resource for free speech issues, disseminating information in a variety of forms, including its website and social media, a quarterly legal review, a weekly newsletter, and various handbooks and guides. It also maintains a 24-hour telephone and online hotline for journalists. The Reporters Committee website redesign is funded in part by contributions from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the Dow Jones Foundation.
