Douglas Jimerson will sing Christmas and seasonal songs accompanied by Civil War Comrades at Hampton National Historic Site in Towson, MD, on Saturday Dec. 10, 1-4:30 PM, 6-8:30 PM and Sunday Dec. 11, 12-4:30 PM. Free, c/o National Park Service.
 
Dec. 5, 2011 - PRLog -- Bring the family and enjoy Christmas carols and seasonal songs. You can sing along! Refreshments will be served. Crafts activities will be provided and encouraged for children. Carriage rides are offered, weather permitting. This is a FREE ADMISSION holiday event hosted by the National Park Service at Hampton National Historic Site in Towson, MD, immediately off Exit 27B, I-695.  The music is continuous on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011 from 1-4:30 PM and 6-8:30 PM and on Sunday, December 11, 2011 from 12-4:30 PM. Tours of the mansion are included with free admission, including candlelight tours on Saturday evening.

Douglas Jimerson is an American concert tenor and musicologist who specializes in historical and patriotic music. He is best known for his many recordings of traditional music. His "White Christmas" CD was recorded with the Washington Philharmonic Orchestra in 2004. Mr. Jimerson began his career singing with The Washington Opera and gave his debut recital at Carnegie Hall in January 1996. He was well received in New York and obtained his first major accolade with a positive review of his Carnegie Hall recital in "The New York Times." He has performed numerous times at The Kennedy Center and is a regular performer for the National Park Service for historical events and national and state holidays.

At Hampton National Historic Site, Mr. Jimerson will be accompanied by Bob Clayton playing mandolin, guitar and banjo and by Brian Lewis playing hammered dulcimer.
