Dec. 5, 2011 - PRLog -- LOS ANGELES – The nation’s underground music scene is going high tech. Now fans of indie music have a new podcast to enjoy, featuring the best street musicians, and unsigned artists from all over the country.

“We are excited to showcase some exceptional, independent talent in this brand new bi-weekly podcast,” said Heather Jacks, author and co-creator of the upcoming art book, The Noise Beneath the Apple™. “We are going to bring the underground above ground, to fans all over the world.”

Music journalist Heather Jacks will host the new half-hour show which will feature the people, players and politics of busking and also include some amazing “do it yourself”, independent artists and musicians. There will be profiles, reviews, pop culture, commentary and plenty of music.

The first show, available online at, http://thenoisebeneaththeapple.com/category/tnbta-podcast/, includes an interview and new music from Los Angeles-based Singer/Songwriter Keaton Simons. The songs If I Hadn't Forgotten - a duet with American Idol Season 9 Finalist Didi Benami and Black & White which was in the Disney film Prom, are highlighted. It is also available for free in the iTunes podcast store at http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-noise-beneath-the-...

“Keaton Simons is a massively talented independent artist and this was a fantastic way to launch our new podcast series,” Jacks said. “But it is only the beginning. We have tons more interviews and music coming up.”

Future guests include street performers from Los Angeles to New York City, past and present, and an impressive array of unsigned artists. On the schedule are Hip/Hop violinist Josh Vietti--who recently appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show; the New York City Saw Lady, Natalia Paruz, former street performer and current drummer for The Kin, Mark Nicosia, known as Shakerleg and songwriter, turning performer, Jay "Wallstreet" Ollero, who has written with Bruno Mars, Nolan Sotillo and more.  Other shows are planned with Nikkole Hall, a Grammy nominee for the last four consecutive years and Marko Shafer, co-owner and booker at the renowned Hotel Café in Los Angeles, a stage that has launched countless careers.

“We are very excited about the podcast and look forward to fantastic chats and tunes with outstanding indie musical talent from all over the nation,” Jacks said.
