Fox News' Ainsley Earhardt Selects Winning F.C.C. Essay

Artist John Ross Palmer will visit a Place of Worship during his 2012 study-abroad adventure thanks to the winning essay selection by Fox News Correspondent Ainsley Earhardt.

Dec. 5, 2011 - PRLog -- On Friday, November 4, 2011, Artist John Ross Palmer met with Fox News correspondent Ainsley Earhardt in New York City to hear her selection of the winning First Class Club essay.  Ms. Earhardt selected the essay by Dr. Susan Catlett of Houston, Texas which directed that Palmer's 2012 study-abroad destination will be centered around a Place of Worship.

The John Ross Palmer First Class Club ("F.C.C.") was created in the summer of 2010 before the artist's trip to Berlin, Germany.  This elite group of art collectors, limited to only ten member  individual or couples each year, support Palmer by generously underwriting his annual study-abroad adventure.  In return for being a member of this privileged group, participants receive an original paper piece of art that Palmer creates specifically for them on his trip, preview privileges of his international art series, personal correspondence from the artist during his travels and name acknowledgement in the Catalogue that documents the series.  This year, Palmer again put the choice of destination up to the First Class Club, (“F.C.C.”) in a fun essay contest. The collectors were presented with ten "types of destinations", 5 natural and 5 man-made, and from that group they were requested to write a short essay on their top pick for Palmer’s study-abroad adventure in 2012. Seven essays were submitted. The choices submitted were a mountain, a beach, a place of worship, an athletic stadium, a palace, a river and a cave.

"While the choice was tough," Earhardt explained, "The Place of Worship option was most appealing to me.  While the natural destinations would no doubt be inspiring, a place of worship can be found anywhere on earth and at the same time be complemented by natural wonders."  Palmer is thrilled with the selection.  "I cannot wait to perform research to find the most inspiring spot! Thanks to Ainsley, the options are limitless!"  Dr. Catlett will be rewarded by having her essay included in the Catalogue that documents Palmer's 2012 international series, and, she will be treated by Palmer to a first-class dinner at Houston's legendary fine dining establishment, Tony's.

Ainsley Earhardt is a correspondent for FOX News Channel (FNC). She joined the network in 2007 and provides live news cut-ins during the overnight hours. Earhardt is a South Carolina native and a graduate of University of South Carolina where she received a degree in Journalism.
