Philip Graves, partner, primarily represents companies in patent cases across a wide variety of technical fields. In addition, he represents companies in other types of intellectual property, business and entertainment litigation, including cases involving trademark infringement, copyright infringement, unfair competition, misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of contract and business torts. Graves has been recognized by his peers as a preeminent intellectual property litigator, as shown by his inclusion in Southern California Super Lawyers in that field every year from 2004 through 2011. He received his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and was a law clerk for the Honorable Andrew J. Kleinfeld on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of Alaska.
Greer Shaw, partner, represents companies in intellectual property, business and other complex commercial litigation cases. Shaw has litigated patent infringement and trade secret matters involving a wide variety of technologies, including: spinal implants, portable digital audio devices, modular flooring, exercise equipment, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, chip packaging, data storage devices, medical devices and therapies, and silicon purification devices, among others. He has also represented clients in various trademark litigation and counseling matters. He has represented individuals and corporate clients in state and federal trial and appellate courts, as well as before the International Trade Commission. Prior to Graves & Shaw, Shaw practiced intellectual property law with Kirkland & Ellis and Goodwin Proctor. He received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the Boston University School of Law. Upon graduation, he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Bailey Aldrich of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
Marjorie Witter, associate, represents companies in intellectual property and entertainment cases, including cases involving patent infringement, trademark infringement, copyright infringement, unfair competition and misappropriation of trade secrets. She received her J.D. from Emory University School of Law, where she received the Dean's Award for Intellectual Property Licensing.
William Wong, associate, focuses his practice on patent infringement litigation. He is a registered patent agent before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Wong served as an intern for the UCLA Office of Intellectual Property where he conducted prior art searches and patentability analyses for university biopharmaceutical technologies. Prior to law school, Mr. Wong worked as an engineer in the pharmaceutical industry. He received his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law and externed for the Honorable Judge S. James Otero of the Central District of California and for the Honorable Alice Schlesinger of the New York State Supreme Court.
