December 6, 2011 In an era where most labels are folding and crashing.  Music industry veteran Oscar Sanchez and his New York City digital urban record label imprint AFFLUENT RECORDS seems to keep surviving afloat striving forward against the industry’s waves of up & down woes.

Now open in its 7th year the label has slowly risen as one of NYC top urban digital labels to be with. Modeled much in the same similar fashion as an early Def Jam. Oscar has enabled to take the lessons and experience he acquired while working in the industry at the top labels and revised a new work model to be able to work forward in to the digital era more successfully. “I am so happy with the way the label has grown. Seven years ago we started out amongst a lot of competition in NYC and not to mention within the country. Our key was opening our doors as a NYC label to not only regional artists but to artists throughout the country right from the very beginning. Another great blessing has been the beautiful service of the net, which has allowed us to fully communicate with these artists much more fluidly now a days than just wasting time the old fashion ways hoping something popped up hot, now A&R can actually work hard and search worldwide. Also since our distribution is worldwide we not only have branded our name nationwide but have also been able to now expand the brand over to Europe.

In 2012 Affluent Records will be adding a new division to the label Team AFFLUENT Europe with new releases from artists from overseas such as Shayox in Switzerland and MC/Producer Ghost in London to set off the New Year” says Sanchez. “Our presence has been growing rather rapidly out there and it was time to be able to open an outlet where artists overseas can work with an urban brand now that the internet can allow us the fluid communication on the daily. We have already partnered with Kollegg Clothing to bring to the web new lifestyle videos of the Euro artists & behind the scenes footage as they begin to grow in making their albums and begin to go on tour.”

While in the states the label plans on bringing more new artists from across the nation to the digital forefront for the New Year such as southern R&B Pop singer JESKA, New York City’s YOUNG DANE, and Orlando Florida JASE COOK. As well as new releases such as The Affluent America Vol2 Album, Hip Hop Neva Died EP, PTSD Album, Platinum Beats Album (A Sole Instrumental album for rappers), The Affluent Dance Remix Project, and many more. “It’s going to be a great year at Affluent, in our 7th year we are now going to have both sides of the world expanding the brand with great new music and great new artists” says Sanchez.
