ACN students taking out the AIDS Awareness rally
The rally was flagged off by the Vice Chancellor of Eternal University Dr. M. S. Atwal and started from Akal College of Engineering & Technology while culminating at village Kehri. Dr. Davinder Singh, Secretary Kalgidhar Trust; Dr. Neelam Kaur, Principal Akal Academy, Baru Sahib & Mrs. Ranjit Kaur, Principal Akal College of Nursing also graced the occasion.
The major attraction of this rally was the AIDS awareness street play held at Kehri. It beautifully brought out the basic awareness information about AIDS. The students smartly performed and passed on the message that “we often ignore things that could have an adverse effect later”.
Students carried placards carrying slogans and information on prevention and treatment of the deadly disease. The colorfully designed posters and banners by the students on AIDS awareness were a centre of attraction for the large audience.
Social Service for the deprived has always been an integral part of the Kalgidhar Society. Over the past two decades, the Society has accumulated an unmatched record of service, especially for the upliftment of rural population in the far-flung regions of North India and especially Himachal Pradesh. Later Dr. M.S. Atwal along with Dr. Davinder Singh & Dr. Neelam Kaur encouraged and appreciated the efforts of the budding nurses and motivated them to always serve the society at large without any prejudices. Well by this rally, Students of Akal College Nursing proved that, “Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something” for the betterment of society.
