Over the years, the City of Hercules had sponsored this event, with paid city staff, who oversaw the event at the Community Center. This year, non-profit groups are organizing the event to make sure this annual tradition continues, even at a smaller scale – at the City Hall, with little or no cost to the city.
Santa is scheduled to appear with his elves. Community members are invited to attend, and organizers are asking community members to bring an ornament or two to trim the indoor tree in City Hall, symbolic of community togetherness. The 2nd tree outdoors whose lights will be turned on at around 6:30 pm, is symbolic of “LIGHTS ARE STILL ON IN HERCULES,” and we continue to move forward. There will be music provided by the local high school and refreshments served.
