Evan Guthrie Law Firm Does Estate Class At Dorchester County Library In Summerville

PRLog (Press Release) - Dec. 1, 2011 - Attorney Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina presented a class on estate planning at the Summerville Branch of the Dorchester County Library on Wednesday September 21st 2011. Attorney Guthrie made the presentation from 6pm to 7:30pm in the library’s meeting room.  The class on estate planning explored the importance of making an estate plan consisting of at least a simple will, durable power of attorney, and a healthcare power of attorney. Mr. Guthrie’s presentation also went into what happens if you do not have an estate plan and how the probate court works in South Carolina.

Attorney Evan Guthrie talked about the importance of having a durable power of attorney and healthcare power of attorney in case you become incapacitated and their effects on quality of life while you are still alive. Mr. Guthrie also answered questions after his presentation that ranged from how to remove a personal representative during a probate proceeding to how to disinherit a child. Attorney Guthrie enjoyed teaching the estate planning class and giving back to the community.
