Michael-Ann Russell JCC Creates Group that performs GLEE-FULLY!

PRLog (Press Release) - Dec. 1, 2011 - J-CAT, The J’s Cultural Arts Theatre at the Michael-Ann Russell JCC located on the Sanford L. Ziff Campus, 18900 NE 25th Avenue, North Miami Beach, will raise the curtain on a group of aspiring Broadway performers, the J-Cabaret Troupe! This ‘Glee-style’ group, comprised of advanced young performers, ranging in age from 9-16, have been busy rehearsing for their Broadway revue show, which will tour to local condominiums, hospitals, and special events throughout South Florida.

Each young performer was selected for this audition-only troupe, by Ashley Blake Fisher, the troupe’s Director and choreographer. “The cast is a high energy song-and-dance troupe of very talented young performers,” mentions Fisher. She continues, “These kids have Broadway on the brain 24-7! Between rehearsing for J-CAT Youth productions two to three times per week like OLIVER! and GUYS & DOLLS, they put in additional rehearsal and performance time to this troupe...so they really eat, breathe, and sleep theatre!”

With a 45-minute high-energy performance, comprised of Broadway and Jazz music, including songs from Hairspray, Annie Get Your Gun, Sweet Charity, Rent, and others, these Broadway Babes are ready to take their show on the road.

On December 4, the troupe will make its debut performance at South Florida’s largest Hanukkah Festival, sponsored by the Hebrew Free Loan Association at Lockhart Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale. They are also scheduled to perform at local condominium communities, and assisted living facilities this spring.
