Dec. 1, 2011 - PRLog -- N/a’an ku sê Clever Cubs School celebrates the graduation of two San Bushman students

01 December 2011 –N/a’an ku sê Foundation, a not-for profit organisation committed to the conservation of the wildlife and the people of Namibia, celebrated the graduation of three further children, two being San Bushman, from the Clever Cubs School this past Saturday, November 26th 2011. Christina Kainamses (7), Esmy Eixas (6) and Imencia Kamta (9) will now join their older friends at Eros Primary School and add to a total of sixteen children that N/a’an ku sê has enrolled into these schools since its creation in November 2009.

N/a’an ku sê’s Clever Cubs School is committed to giving San Bushman children the same standard of education that is available to any other children. Thanks to the Clever Cubs teacher Hilma Kapewasha, and in partnership with the teachers and principle at Eros Primary School and Eros Girls School, N/a’an ku sê makes it possible for these children to enroll in primary school. Sixteen children have been attending since last year and have exceeded all expectations by showing dedication and progress in some of the subjects.
Sadly, only 1 in 5 Bushman children attend primary school. Many Bushman parents are either unable to afford to send their children to school or the children have been rejected by schools due to learning or physical disabilities. We believe education, play and bringing children together in a positive environment are vital to improving the lives and futures for the San community and provide free education to them.

Without the education they receive at Clever Cubs, these children would stand little chance of gaining entry into a mainstream school and consequently receive no education or qualifications in order for them to gain employment when they are older. N/a’an ku sê is committed to improving the lives of the San community that we work with through education, healthcare and better living conditions.

We would like to congratulate Christina Kainamses, Esmy Eixas and Imencia Kamta on their hard work and success.

We do not receive any government funding and the future of our Clever Cubs School is solely reliant on generous donations from our contributors. To find out more or to contribute to our cause please email donations@naankuse.com or visit www.naankuse.com
