Nebraska District Improves Processes with Harris Suite of Products

Nov. 30, 2011 - PRLog -- Harris School Solutions, national provider of K-12 and adult education software, announces the successful implementation of AptaFund at the Bennington Public Schools in Bennington, Neb. The district was a former DataTeam customer, when DataTeam was acquired by Harris in 2007.

"When DataTeam was bought by Harris, I was a little skeptical about receiving the same great response I had always received from DataTeam support. However, the move to Harris was no different. I have always had great responses from their support team," said Bennington district bookkeeper Lynne Lurvey.

The district first implemented the employee time and attendance solution, Attendance Enterprise, and the web-based activity accounting solution, AAWeb. Lurvey said both solutions have positively impacted their business operations.

"Attendance Enterprise definitely has cut the time of having to manually add up time cards, and has eliminated the risk of error in manually figuring hours. I really like the deposit function in AAWeb, which was not included in previous software," said Lurvey.

In May 2011, the district chose to upgrade to Harris' fund accounting software, AptaFund. For Lurvey, the high quality of information produced in the AptaFund reports was also a product highlight.

"I was really impressed with AptaFund when we started looking at new accounting software this year. There is certainly a lot to learn, but I feel that in the long run it will give our district all the information we could hope to get from a software package," stated Lurvey.

The newly released AptaFund 4 is a centrally hosted, web-based, Software as a Service (SaaS) solution that can accommodate school districts of any size. It features an enhanced user interface, equipping customers with a powerful, yet easy to navigate accounting solution for managing and reporting data.
