Strategic Meeting Point for Shale Development in Asia Pacific Announced

The US Energy Information Agency early this year reported initial assessments of 1,275 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of technically recoverable shale gas resources in China, compared with 862 Tcf in the United States. With the first shale gas basins blocks already in exploration phases it represent a potential game changer for China’s energy strategies, and PetroChina aiming to produce 500 million cubic meters of shale gas by 2015.
