Nov. 29, 2011 - PRLog -- Where there’s a challenge, there’s a contract to be won is the attitude of Aquamark Cleaning, who has recently completed several high profile projects that other cleaning firms refused to even attempt to tackle.

The Royal Ballet School’s famous ‘Bridge of Aspiration’ was one such job. The award winning curved steel and glass bridge snakes high over Covent Garden and provides a direct route for dancers from the school into the Opera House. The location and unique twisting metal, wood and glass structure had proved too much of a challenge for other cleaning companies. But Aquamark found a way. Managing Director Brad Staines explained how:

“We liaised with Westminster Council and arranged to have the road closed off on a Sunday for least disruption. We brought in hydraulic platforms, which we’re licensed to operate, and used water-fed poles and a range of hand tools to safely and delicately clean the bridge.”

Westfield Stratford: Working Round the Clock to make it Public-Ready

Over in Olympic territory, just before its grand opening, the extensive glass and steel hand rails sported by the new Westfield Shopping Centre had to be cleaned and made ready for inspection by its first public. Aquamark were called in at extremely short notice to complete the huge project which the existing cleaning team were unable to perform.
A number of competitors turned the contract down due to the sheer enormity of the task and the impending deadline, and in the end, it was one of Aquamark’s rivals who recommended them for the job.

Short Notice No Problem

By calling upon his contact network, Aquamark Managing Director Brad Staines was able to locate three hydraulic platforms at short notice. He said: “As the deadline was so near, the decision was taken to work day and night. Work began on the Wednesday night, with the first team replaced on Thursday morning by a second team. A third team came in on Thursday night and worked through until 7am Friday morning: deadline day. The work was signed off on first inspection.”

Other projects recently completed by Aquamark were the ‘In the Night Garden’ set at Brent Cross Shopping Centre, the Kings’ Estate secure underground car park in Chelsea and the striking glass dome roof of the Police Federation of England and Wales building.

“Sometimes You’ve got to Pool Resources and Put Yourself Out”

On stepping in where other firms turn projects down, Brad Staines has this to say: “Nothing’s impossible; it’s just about pooling resources and sometimes putting yourself out a bit. I believe you have to do that if you’re going to get anywhere in today’s business world. We’ve got a fantastic team here who are only here because they share our can-do attitude.”
