Nov. 28, 2011 - PRLog -- ANYONE searching for festive atmosphere should look no further than Swansea’s historic Brangwyn Hall this Christmas.

The Swansea Philharmonic Choir is presenting Handel’s Messiah on Saturday December 17 starting at 7.30pm.  Conducted by Clive John and accompanied by the Chamber Orchestra of Wales, the choir will be joined by soprano Laurie Ashworth, mezzo-soprano Carolyn Dobbin, tenor Joseph Cornwell and bass-baritone James Oldfield.

The Christmas Candlelight Concert on Wednesday December 21 also starts at 7.30pm and will feature the Chamber Orchestra of Wales and Chorale. The concert will be conducted by Alwyn Humphreys and will include soloist Ros Evans. Mulled wine and mince pies will be available.

Cllr Graham Thomas, Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Recreation and Tourism, said: “These concerts are a much-loved feature of Christmas in Swansea.

“They generate a wonderful festive atmosphere in a first-class venue and are now part and parcel of the Christmas tradition in Swansea.”

Tickets for both events are available online at http://www.swansea.gov.uk/brangwynhall or by calling 01792 637300.
