PRLog -- Charlotte North Carolina, the Rasberrirose Foundation Inc. and Ultimate Barber Lounge are teaming up for the 9th Annual Bless a Child for Christmas Toy Drive. Now thru December 22, 2011 sponsored sites will collect toys for four needy families. Each site will be given a family to sponsor and a wish list for clients and community residents to take part in making a difference in the lives of those in need this holiday season. Anyone living in the Mecklenburg County area that knows someone in need or in need of sponsorship is to submit a 500 word essay detailing their need for sponsorship including details of the family and the hardship that makes it impossible to put presents under the tree for their children. Families have until Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 5 pm to submit essays by email only to Rasberrirose@
aol.com. Families will be notified on Friday, December 2, 2011. The Rasberrirose Foundation Inc. was founded and incorporated in 2006. Their mission is “To positively impact the mind, body, and soul of African American women and girls struggling with low self-esteem with a focus on HIV prevention” Founder DeVondia R. Roseborough takes her mission steps further by collaborating with community businesses and organizations and giving back during the holiday seasons. She remembers first hand when she was standing in line spinning the wheel for a bicycle at the Salvation Army for her daughters. “I’ve always said if I can make a difference I will deposit back which was given to me” Says Roseborough. The Rasberrirose Foundation Inc. is in need of three more sponsors. This local 501 c3 along with community partners and small businesses will bind together and sponsor a family per site. Four families will be selected this year and granted wishes for their children. The responsibility for each site is to provide a large bin to place new unwrapped toys from the sponsored family’s wish list. The bins will be picked up on December 22, 2011 and delivered by DeVondia R. Roseborough to the families personally. If you would like to nominate a family or yourself and live in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, please submit a 500 word essay describing the need of your nominee and wish list for the children along with ages and sex of the child.
