Habitat HQ Best Backpacker Hostel Accommodation in Melbourne again in 2011

Nov. 27, 2011 - PRLog -- Habitat HQ was crowned best Victorian ‘Backpacker Accommodation’ at the RACV 2011 Victorian Tourism Awards gala dinner held at Crown Casino.  Winning for a second consecutive year, the judges again recognised Habitat HQ’s innovative tourism offering, awarding Habitat HQ the highest honour.

The annual RACV Victorian Tourism Awards were held on Monday 14th November in the huge Palladium Room at Crown Casino.  In front of over 1,000 industry representatives, Peter Beaconsfield, Director, Nicola Smith, Business Development & Marketing Manager and Elaine Gilligan, Operations Manager collected the Best Backpacker Hostel Accommodation award on behalf of their elated Habitat HQ team.

“We are so proud to be driving innovation in the backpacker and youth segment and to be recognised by the industry for our level of excellence.  This award celebrates the ongoing passion of our staff and their contribution to the broader tourism industry.” said Nicola Smith, Business Development & Marketing Manager.

Peter Beaconsfield congratulated his staff saying “Habitat HQ’s success is due to our wonderful and dedicated team. Each member prides themself on assisting every guest to enjoy a positive and memorable travel experience.”

Congratulating Habitat HQ the Minister for Tourism and Events, Louise Asher said the awards are instrumental in encouraging creativity, professionalism and innovation within the tourism industry.

“These awards celebrate the achievements of those who strive for tourism excellence and quality, and to make Victoria a world-class tourism destination.”

From the 140 tourism operators entered, Habitat HQ and the other 30 award winners will go on to represent Victoria at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards in Cairns, March 2012.

This recognition follows the recent announcement of Habitat HQ winning the TNT Golden Backpacks Award for 2011.  This was also a second win for Melbourne's leading backpacker hostel who were awarded best backpacker hostel in 2010 in the same awards the previous year.

The Habitat HQ www.habitathq.com.au backpacker hostel is located in Melbourne’s seaside tourist hotspot St Kilda at 333 St Kilda Road.
