New horror writer makes an instant impact with first short story.

Nov. 25, 2011 - PRLog -- Horror is a genre that is often subjected to being a dying cause. You still have the big guns such as Stephen King going strong, but where is the new blood? Who is there to carry the genre through to the new generation of horror enthusiasts? Following a great reception to his first published short story ‘Therapy Kills’ author Michael McGowan reveals that it is his goal to one day carry the torch of all things horror and push it beyond the conventional boundaries.

“I was surprised anyone downloaded Therapy Kills at first but then I was glad that they enjoyed the story. I am new to having my work published so you can imagine my reaction when I found out it has managed to get a small following in the space of a week. I initially wanted to write the horror that I wanted to read and it seems that there are a good number of people who feel the same way. I wanted Therapy Kills to have a real feel to it. Don’t get me wrong monsters and unstoppable killers are still scary topics but I enjoy the effect the realism has on the reader.
