Underfloor Heating in a Screeded Floor

Before installing underfloor heating in a screeded floor, please check that the following guidelines have been adhered to:

Nov. 25, 2011 - PRLog -- Make sure that the floor is level and clean before the insulation is fitted.  The pipe centres for our water underfloor heating system is normally c/c 200 mm.  Screed thickness is normally 65 – 75 mm and for a liquid screed it is normally 50 mm.

The underfloor heating pipe is fine being 100 mm from the walls.  Check that edge insulation has been fitted.  All insulation boards needs to be taped to prevent screed going between then boards.

Our warm water underfloor heating pipes are made to the highest possible standard by HENCO in Belgium.   As wet underfloor heating systems run at much lower temperature than radiators the end user will benefit from lower running costs and much better efficiency. Radiant heating systems are very much the future for the UK heating market.

Energy saving of up to 20 % can be achieved with underfloor heating water in domestic properties.  A new underfloor heating system will probably cost more to buy than a radiator system, but higher comfort levels and added value to the building will be achieved. The cost for running the system will also be lower.

Underfloor heating in a Conservatory will make it available for all year usage.  If underfloor heating is fitted to a very old building, check that the heat losses are not too high as else the underfloor heating system might not provide enough heat and additional heating might be required.

Make sure that each major room has it’s own programmable digital room thermostat.
