Follow on Google News | Beauty Queens set to embark on 30K London Charity Run for ChristmasBeauty Queens from the Miss Black Africa International beauty pageant will be embarking on a gruelling 30K run to raise money for charity. The run is set to take place on the 10th of December at the Lea Valley Athletic centre, Edmonton, London.
By: myukevents The ‘Queens for a Reason’ initiative is the brainchild of the Miss Black Africa UK organisation responsible for organising the Miss Black Africa international Beauty Pageant. The pageant is open to women of sub-Saharan origin. The ‘Queens for a Reason’ delegates are the winners and finalists of this year’s Miss Black Africa competition. These beautiful and selfless ladies are committed to carrying out charitable activities throughout the year. The organiser, Dele Onabowu said that they decided to make it more unique and came up with the world’s first 30km relay race as it will be accomplished on a 400m outdoor track. To complete the race, they will need to do 75 laps of the 400m track. He explained that he will be starting the race by doing the first lap, while the final lap will be completed by the reigning queen, Ruvimbo Chinzou. The historic race will take place on the 10th of December 2011 at the Lee Valley Athletic centre in Edmonton, North London from 1.30pm and is open to the public who wish to attend as spectators. The Top Miss Black Africa Contestants and winners will be embarking on various projects throughout the year.
