San Antonio Orthopaedic Practice Adds Additional Surgeon

Nov. 24, 2011 - PRLog -- Issada Thongtrangan, M.D., or Dr. “T” is a Board eligible Orthopaedic surgeon who has

had well-rounded and extensive training in orthopaedic surgery. He finished his

residency at the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University Medical

Center and was elected to receive “Best Resident” award upon his completion based

on his excellent patient care, surgical skills, and teaching skills. He also served as a

chief resident during his last year in the residency. Dr. Thongtrangan is a uniquely

fellowship-trained spine surgeon as he was trained in both orthopaedic-spine and

neurosurgery-spine fellowship programs. He completed his neurosurgical spine and

peripheral nerve reconstruction fellowship at the world-renowned Stanford University

Medical Center where he gained experience in complex spinal reconstruction,

deformities, tumor and revision surgery to treat patients having undergone previous

spinal surgery without success. He later accomplished his orthopaedic spine

fellowship at the prestigious Texas Back Institute where he learned multi-disciplinary

approaches to various spinal disorders. He has authored and co-authored several

papers and book chapters on spinal disorders  and management. Dr. Thongtrangan

also has fellowship training in orthopedic trauma at the Medical College of Virginia,

Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center and in total joint reconstruction at the

University of Minnesota.
