Pacific Western Transportation Employees Recipients of 2011 OMCA Awards of Excellence

Nov. 23, 2011 - PRLog -- Toronto, November 15, 2011 - Each year the Ontario Motor Coach Association (OMCA) presents Awards of Excellence to deserving individuals within the Ontario motor coach industry. These awards recognize and reward outstanding performance on the basis of safety and customer service.

This year, the Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Pacific Western’s Director of Safety & Development, Mr. Terry Spark. Terry has had a very dynamic career in the motor coach industry since 1970, starting as a TTC operator and today has grown to be a significant contributor to the management team of Pacific Western.  Terry’s development of schedules and crewing for new lines of business has provided the foundation for sound relationships with many customers. In spite of his long hours, Terry has managed to donate personal time to the community and the Motor Coach Industry.  Some of these include:
•   Member of the Ontario Motor Coach Safety Council (up to the year 2000)
•   PRIDE Professional Instructor
•   MTO Signing Authority
•   Ontario Superhost
•   PWT Occupational Health & Safety Committee (founder)
•   PWT Accident Review Committee
•   PWT - NSC (National Safety Code) and COR Audit Compliance
•   Burlington Soccer Club (Coach – House League, All Star and Rep programs)
   
In addition, the Driver Excellence Award was presented to Pacific Western Transportation’s operator, Mr. Stu Pritchard for his work ethics and outgoing personality. Stuart is dedicated to going above and beyond in his job. One of our local OHL Hockey Teams had dyed their hair blonde as did Stu (who was their dedicated driver). His safety record has also been a contributing factor for his outstanding performance: being accident-free for 6 years.

Both awards were presented to Stu and Terry on Monday, November 7th 2011 during the 2011 OMCA Annual Conference in Windsor.
