The company will be taking patients who are unable to travel except by ambulance from nursing homes in El Paso to residences within the county. The service was offered to patients who are not ambulatory and would like to spend some time with their family during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
Elite Medical Transport donates the roundtrip ambulance service on each holiday for a selected nursing home patient, to and from their family residence. The nursing home selected the participating patient earlier in the month.
After the visit, ambulance personnel will transport the patient back to the appropriate nursing facility. They will be allowed to stay as long as they wish on their home visit, whether it be just a few hours or overnight.
