“Our goal as a community is to reach out and raise $2,000 to be able to purchase 28 farm animals. The animals provide protein, vital nutrition, a future income and will save some children from hunger in poverty ravished Haiti,” noted Barbara Jean Herndon, manager at The Meetinghouse at Daytona.
Residents at the Finlay Management senior community working on the charity project include Sue Drakos, Alice Conner, Donna Brewster, Enedelia Smaragdas, Sandra Roberts, Filippo D'Addio, Carolyn Shanks, Lori Armstong, Committee Chairwoman, and Shirley Philipps, Claire and Roger Bowers, Faye Plitcher and Lynn Slyvester.
This is the first year The Meetinghouse at Daytona has published the cookbook. They are on sale for $7. All proceeds go World Vision to purchase the farm animals.
