Nov. 28, 2011 - PRLog -- (FREMONT, Neb.) AccuQuilt, international distributor of fabric cutting solutions for quilting and fabric crafts, announced its marketing director, Lynn Gibney, together with author N. L. Sharp and illustrator Timothy Hantula, won a 2011 Nebraska Book Award for Cover/Design/Illustration of the book, The Flower Girl/The Ring Bear. The book previously won the 2010 iParenting Media Award in the Excellent Book category.

"We are proud of Lynn and pleased to say we have this kind of talent right here in our home town, at the disposal of AccuQuilt, to serve consumers and quilt shops in the quilting and fabric crafts industry," said AccuQuilt CEO, Steve Nabity. "Now everybody knows why AccuQuilt’s distinctive graphics have received such acclaim in the quilting and fabric crafts world!"

The Flower Girl/The Ring Bear is about two children who are told they will be a flower girl and ring bearer in an upcoming wedding. Their idea of what a flower girl and ring bearer do is quite different from the ideas of their families. The book is told as two parallel stories in a flip-over book format. Gibney’s layout of Hantula’s whimsical illustrations enhances the story as told by Sharp.

During her 13 years with AccuQuilt, which has manufactured premier cutting products for the quilting, craft and education markets among others, Gibney was responsible for or instrumental in many of AccuQuilt's innovative marketing activities, including development of the GO!® and Studio™ brands, cutting-edge social media marketing, design of the company's mobile media app, and first-in-industry quilting and fabric crafts website innovations.

Prior to joining AccuCut in 1998, Gibney was a graphic designer and team manager at First Brands Corporation, a Fortune 500 consumer products company in Danbury, Conn., where she handled brands such as Glad®, Gladlock®, STP® and ScoopAway®. Gibney holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design from State University of New York (SUNY) at Purchase. She has won several local honors for her visual art compositions, and designed Effie’s Image, another children’s book written by N. L. Sharp. The book was illustrated by Dorothia Rohner. It received honors from the Nebraska Center for the Book in 2005 and a 2006 national Teacher’s Choice Award from Learning Magazine, and was a 2007/2008 Nebraska Golden Sower nominee.

The book The Flower Girl/The Ring Bear is available online at Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com.
