By: Adee Drory The artist Aboutboul has been living in Los Angles for the past two years, which has inspired the upcoming exhibit. Moving from his homeland Israel to a new and unknown destination inspired him to examine what “parts” of him have been left behind and what is still a part of him. EVENT DATE Saturday Dec 3, 2011 EVENT TIME: 6:00PM – 11:00PM EVENT LOCATION: ABOUT THE ARTIST Alon Aboutboul is an israeli acclaimed actor. He met "the painter" in 2009, In Los Angeles, shortly after his mother, Arlette died. The painter is everything that the actor isn't. He fought several wars where he watched some of his best friends being killed. He was honored with the decoration of courage after rescuing a wounded fellow soldier behind enemy lines, and under the most dangerous circumstances. After his military service he joined "The Mossad" the Israeli intelligence agency. He has no family and is constantly on the move. The painter is anonymous. He always paints and draws while in surveillance. In caffes, busses, trains and plains, painting has been his perfect disguise. Many think the painter doesn't exist and that he is an alter ego of the Israeli actor Alon Aboutboul. Others believe he is a character created by the actor. unlike the actor his actions do not require audience.- the painter lives and works in the dark, all by himself.
