Nov. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- Today’s Caregiver magazine, http://www.caregiver.com, the nation’s leading magazine, Web and conference organization for family and professional caregivers since 1995, announced today that the founding family, The Barg Family, will receive The Community Leadership Award by the Bnai Zion Foundation at a tribute luncheon and special needs for children fundraiser on December 8th at the Newport Beachside Hotel and Resort in Sunny Isles, Florida.

“Today’s Caregiver Magazine, http://www.caregiver.com and the Fearless Caregiver Conferences were conceived out of the void of support that existed 17 years ago for family caregivers,” said Gary Barg, Chief Executive Officer of Caregiver Media Group. “When our family was faced with the challenges of caring for my dad and two grandparents, dealing with a wide variety of healthcare challenges, my mother Monica and I decided to help others going through the caregiving process by starting a magazine here in South Florida,” Barg said. “We had no idea that the magazine would grow into such a success and would evolve into the first national publication for family and professional caregivers.”

The magazine, started 17 years ago, has grown into the nationally distributed Today’s Caregiver magazine, a Web community, http://www.caregiver.com, and Fearless Caregiver Conferences, held across the nation, that have educated millions of families and professional caregivers across the country.

“The demand for caregiver education and support was so great that we had to call in the reserves,” Barg said, referring to the addition of his brother Steven, who now is the Chief Operating Officer, and his sister Linda who has become an important voice in the South Florida healthcare community.

The Barg Family is humbled to receive this recognition and proud to be part of the fundraising efforts of the Bnai Zion Foundation. We are asking family, friends and business relationships to help with the benefit by reaching into their pockets. The benefit is focused on Children with Special Needs at Ma’aleh Adumim.

The challenging economic situation in Israel has taken its toll on the residents of Ma’aleh Adumin, especially the children. With a significant number of people in Ma’aleh Adumim below the poverty line, Bnai Zion has undertaken to provide to provide critical assistance to the town’s residents, including children with special needs. Proceeds from the Community Leadership Awards Luncheon will be targeted for customized education, activities to improve one’s life situation and physical and/or mental exercise for children with special needs.

Funds sought for these items include laptop computers and programs for a therapy room, art supplies, emergency diagnostic equipment, emergency clothing and therapeutic games for children.
