THE COMMUNITY CHILDREN’S CENTER-LEHIGH
EARNS NATIONAL ACCREDITATION
LEHIGH ACRES, FLA., November 21, 2011 - The Community Children’s Center in Lehigh has earned accreditation from the National Accreditation Commission for Early Care and Education Programs (NAC) for outstanding early childhood programs which meet national standards of quality.
The center, operated by Child Care of Southwest Florida, Inc., is located at 1260 Wings Way in Lehigh and is licensed to care for 167 children from ages infant to 8.
The child care center is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
“The Community Children’s Center is very honored to be recognized for our efforts to provide exceptional child care education for our children. This demonstrates to parents that we have earned the Gold Seal for quality child care programs from the State of Florida,” said The Community Children’s Center Director Megan Greeley-Gibson. To view Gold Seal requirements and a list of centers that have earned the accreditation, visit www.dcf.state.fl.us/
To become accredited, The Community Children’s Center had to meet a variety of strict criteria related to providing a developmentally appropriate program for pre-school children. These criteria range from providing a program that exceeds state licensing requirements to providing professional development opportunities for staff, as well as parental involvement.
Accreditation includes an on-site study of the program by an early childhood professional followed by a final assessment of the center by commissioners from the National Accreditation Commission For Early Care and Education Programs.
