The administrator of the state solar rebate program, the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC), selected New England Breeze Solar as the integrator for the Solarize Massachusetts pilot program in the town of Harvard. The program was launched to increase the widespread adoption of solar power through community outreach and volume discounts during a limited time offer.

Durrenberger's company was the smallest of three selected integrators, yet outperformed the larger installers. At the program's completion, Durrenberger had contracted over 400 kilowatts (kW) to a town of 1,800 homes. This was more than triple the amount of solar sold by a much larger installer in a nearby city with a population triple the size of the town of Harvard. Durrenberger believes the unprecedented success his company achieved as part of the Solarize Massachusetts program has directly translated to more solar customers.
