Nov. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- Toby and Sarah Murray of Beechwood Fine Foods situated in Tring, Hertfordshire, will have their work cut out over the next few weeks as they support not only their local Christmas Festivals but also participate in the World Cheese Awards at the BBC Good Food Show.

Tring Christmas Festival takes place on Friday 25 November 2011 from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.  In support of the event and its visitors, the unique farm shop and café deli will be offering free tasters and samples from their shop on Frogmore Street, just a few paces walk from the High Street and Dolphin Square, a selection of British and locally sourced products and Beechwood’s bespoke Christmas gift hampers.  The shop and café will be open throughout the event serving winter-warming homemade soup and hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows, both to takeaway.

Berkhamsted Festival of Light takes place on Sunday 4 December from 3.30pm to 6pm and Beechwood will be participating jointly with ‘Cakes and Bakes’.   Cakes and Bakes, also located in the market town of Tring, are suppliers to Beechwood.  On offer will be a selection of their novelty iced biscuits and their ‘Take and Bake’ home baking kits, which are stocked by Beechwood.  Also for sale on the stall will be a selection of Sarah’s delicious homemade cakes, at special show prices, plus a variety of other Christmas food products including Beechwood Fine Foods’ Christmas hampers.

The World Cheese Awards will be taking place at the BBC Good Food Show later this month and Toby will be participating as one of the judges, on behalf of the Guild of Fine Foods, of which Beechwood are accredited members.  Last year in excess of 2,500 entries were received from all over the world judged by over 200 judges from 15 countries.  Toby says, “We’re looking forward to all three events, but I feel really quite honoured to have been asked to judge at the World Cheese Awards, not least because its part of the BBC Good Food Show which is a fantastic event in itself!  The Guild is an important source of new product lines and awards, and endeavours to raise the profile of independent fine food retailers such as ourselves, and we are therefore very supportive of its efforts.”

The Good Food Show takes place at the Birmingham NEC from 23 – 27 November.  The judging of the World Cheese Awards takes place on the 23rd and the awards given that day.  Said Toby, “Cornish Blue from the Cornish Cheese Co won the event last year, which is a magnificent achievement considering the vast competition”.
