Nov. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- Collaboratively developed and designed by SAP and grasundsterne agency for advertising and custom publishing, SAP.info provides its target audience (CIOs, IT decision-makers, and SAP users and partners) with daily insights into the world of business and IT. The dynamic web magazine is optimally displayed on every device – from smartphones, tablets, and notebooks to desktops, televisions, and even in-car PCs – regardless of manufacturer, operating system, browser, and screen size. With this achievement, SAP is executing its mobility strategy also in the area of communications.

“For us, the advantages of a dynamic website are obvious: we can reach the largest possible audience, we are able to track and measure site traffic, and we are more efficient in the publishing process. We deliberately decided against an app for these reasons,” explains SAP.info editor-in-chief, Christoph Zeidler. Although SAP.info is not an app, it looks and behaves like one. Features like multi-touch, video integration, an invisible browser bar, and an icon on the home screen are supported on all iOS devices. In addition, mobile advertising banners can be delivered on smartphones and tablets.

On a technical level, the dynamic web magazine is based completely on the programming languages HTML5 and CSS3; it uses JavaScript as the engine. The use of Adobe Flash Player was intentionally avoided.

“We are extremely proud of this relaunch because we are the very first in the B2B realm to offer this kind of dynamic web magazine. We are setting the standard,” says Hubertus Kuelps, head of Global Communications at SAP. Markus Elsen, managing director at grasundsterne adds, “With the ever-increasing adoption of smartphones and tablets, we are experiencing a new era in mobile communications. Thanks to HTML5 and CSS3, we are now able to make corporate communications even more efficient. Magazine apps simply won’t be able to keep up.”

In terms of content, SAP.info publishes articles in eight languages on business software, mobility topics, and event reports. Social media features are custom-integrated into the dynamic web magazine: reader feedback, comments, and tweets are published directly on the home page. The design is clean and uncluttered, giving more space to content. “Sleek, stylish, and modern – this was our ultimate goal during the six-month development phase,” says Christoph Zeidler. “As far as content goes, we continue to publish current, concrete, and relevant articles for the end user. Now, though, we are optimized for all devices.”

For the launch of the new SAP.info, SAP and grasundsterne present a video which helps to explain all the features and functions of the new website. The video can be found directly on the SAP.info home page.
