Kinder’s Actions Amount to A Vote of No Confidence in HimselfMissouri Cannot Afford ~$90,000 A Year for A Part-Time Position Occupied By Someone Who Doesn’t Think He Can Be Governor. Carter respectfully asks that Kinder get a real job that will allow him to leave taxpayers’ money alone.
By: Vote4Carter.com Nov. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- ST. CHARLES, MO, November 21, 2011 – Mike Carter is asking Peter Kinder to reconsider his run for a third term as Missouri’s Lieutenant Governor. No Lieutenant Governor has served three terms since the 1940s. Carter says seeking a third term is irresponsible, self-indulgent and fiscally irresponsible.
“Kinder should do what Republicans do best – work in the private sector. One should not seek an ineffective office into perpetuity. It’s not like our Lt. Governor has unfinished business,” said Carter. Missouri’ As Lieutenant Governor, Carter would continue to work full time in the private sector and treat the office of Lt. Governor for what it is – a VERY part-time position that is severely overpaid. Through whatever legal and allowable means available, Carter pledges to seek a salary that is commensurate with the actual duties performed by the Lt. Governor (part-time positions deserve part-time pay). “Ninety some-odd Thousand Dollars is a lot of money and, well, the position of Lieutenant Governor in Missouri is not deserving of it. Look at the economy – the furloughs, layoffs, lack of hiring, stagnation, etc. . . . and here we are paying an elected official two to three times what he deserves – that’s unacceptable and irresponsible,” Kinder’s alleged issues with using voters’ money to pay for his personal recreation suggests that our Lieutenant Governor doesn’t have enough of his own personally earned money. Carter respectfully asks that Kinder get off the public teet and get a real job that will allow him to leave taxpayers’ money alone.
