Nov. 20, 2011 - PRLog -- Carlisle, PA – More awards to announce for catering company Chef Exclusive.  For the second time, one of the company’s chefs has won the prestigious “Carlisle’s Own Iron Chef” competition.  On Sunday, November 13, chefs from four different restaurants battled it out to see who could cook up the most original, delicious dish using a secret ingredient.  At the end of the competition, Ashlee Telep took home the event’s eighth annual title.

“Being named ‘Carlisle’s Own Iron Chef’ for 2011 is great,” Telep said.  “I haven’t even graduated from culinary school yet.”

Chef Exclusive (http://www.chefexclusive.com) is a full service catering company lead by Executive Chef Daneyon White.  The multiple award-winning company specializes in everything from elegant event and wedding catering to intimate dinners for two and backyard barbecues.

Telep, who is a culinary student at Keystone Technical Institute (KTI), is current manager of The Pretzel Spot Café (http://www.pretzelspotcafe.com) and Chef White’s assistant for Chef Exclusive Catering.  White worked beside Telep as her sous chef for the day.  Their unique brunch-themed meal using Andouille sausage in an omelet with dirty rice and balsamic glaze claimed the judges’ votes.

“Ashlee began working with me this past May,” White said.  “She is an astute student of culinary arts.  As her skills have improved, she has prepared tastings for brides and grooms looking to Chef Exclusive for wedding catering.  Each couple who has tasted Ashlee’s food has booked our catering services.”

Telep has been working in the quick service restaurant industry since the age of 14.  She started her career with Boston Culinary in March 2010.  Now in Central Pennsylvania, she will graduate from KTI with her associate’s degree in January 2012.  She was promoted to her manager position at the Pretzel Spot Café within the past few months.

“Ashlee’s daily commitment towards learning and improving help her earn the manager position,” White said.  “I look forward to watching her skills grow as our catering and café businesses grow.”

The “Carlisle’s Own Iron Chef” 2011 title is the second for Chef Exclusive.  Chef White was named co-champion of the same competition two years ago.
