Lake Norman Orchestra to Perform at Mitchell Community College

Nov. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- The Lake Norman Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Eduardo Cedeño, will present a special holiday concert on Saturday, December 10 at 3:00 PM at Mitchell Community College.  This family-friendly event will be held at Shearer Hall on Mitchell Community College's Statesville Campus at 500 West Broad Street, Statesville, North Carolina.

Co-sponsored by the Iredell Arts Council and Mitchell Community College Humanities & Fine Arts Division, this performance includes many of your favorite holiday selections.  From children to adults, there's a festive sound of joy for every ear.  So please come and join in as the Lake Norman Orchestra celebrates the season!

The Lake Norman Orchestra, a not-for-profit community organization, welcomes all volunteers who desire to improve their musicianship, share their talent with their peers and provide quality entertainment throughout the Piedmont region of North Carolina. The LKNO performs several concerts throughout the year at numerous venues in the Lake Norman area.  The LKNO musical repertoire is as diverse as its membership, so you're sure to find something you enjoy. Rehearsals are held every Monday evening, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Peninsula Baptist Church in Mooresville.   In 2012, the LKNO plans to perform a concert tour in Vienna and Salzburg, Austria.

Eduardo M. Cedeño has performed as a conductor, soloist and collaborative artist in the United States, Europe, and South America. As a founding member of the Simon Bolivar Orchestra, Director and Conductor of the Merida Symphony Orchestra and as a Founding Member of the Philharmonic Choral Group of Caracas, Venezuela, he has worked with the founder of El Sistema and the Orquesta Nacional Juvenil de Venezuela. Cedeño has collaborated with numerous performing organizations including the Philharmonic Orchestra of Indianapolis, the Indianapolis Opera, and Charlotte Civic Orchestra; UNCC Opera and Carolina Voices, as well as various orchestras in Caracas, Venezuela. In addition to conducting the Lake Norman Orchestra, Cedeño presently serves as Orchestra Director at Gaston School of the Arts in Gastonia, Strings Instructor and Chorus/Band Director at Community School of Davidson High School in Davidson, and as Adjunct Music Faculty at Mitchell Community College in Statesville. http://www.eduardocedeno.net
