Nov. 19, 2011 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, CA – November 19, 2011  “They Live Among Us,” the innovative new web series that has people talking has joined the Kickstarter movement by launching a new campaign to fund Episodes 4 -6.

This compelling drama explores the concepts of isolation, conflict and love that exists between humans - and supernatural creatures. The story weaves horror, gothic romance and film noir in a tale of fallen angels, demons and star-crossed lovers as they struggle to exist in the City of Angels.

“They Live Among Us is more than entertainment; it's a project that addresses real human issues: homelessness, domestic violence, exploitation, drug addiction and isolationism,” says creator Anne Lower. “I was interested in the dichotomy of living in Los Angeles – a city of 4 million people, yet so many of them feel alone. Outsiders. I wanted to create snapshot stories of people’s lives – and their secrets: secret lives, secret loves, secret hopes and secret fears. There’s something very poignant and compelling about the tale of the outsider. After thinking on this, I realized that the ultimate outsider would be a supernatural being, awash in a sea of humanity. Thus, the idea of TLAU was born.”

Episode One, “Pull My Strings,” made its debut on November 1, 2011. Described as a “‎sensual, captivating webseries… this should be a case study for micro budget projects,” “Pure Poetic pulp,” and “capturing the true noir essence of films like “Detour,”’ the series continued with it’s second episode, “Fall from Grace,” released on November 17. Episode Three, “Let’s do Lunch,” is scheduled to stream November 29, 2011.

“Filmmaking is a collaborative art form,” Lower says. “And that’s why I turned to Kickstarter to help bring this project to fruition. It takes a village to make TLAU.”

Lower is trying to raise $18,000 to fund the next three episodes, each which has a running time of 13 to 15 minutes.

Prior to producing the series, Lower created On the Verge and Global Voices, two Outreach programs for Final Draft, Inc., which work to close the gap between Hollywood talent and emerging or under-served writers. She has worked as a consultant for Save the Cat! and Blake Snyder, and has served on the Board of Trustees as Director of Communications for the International Centre of Women Playwrights.
