Crowds gathered to watch Imogen, who lives in Connah’s Quay, make her way into the city on Saturday morning, sitting alongside Santa in a magical sleigh pulled by real reindeer.
The Bryn Deva School pupil, who won her place alongside Santa by entering the Forum’s Christmas paining competition, waved at passers by before accompanying Santa to his Grotto in the shopping centre.
“Imogen screamed with joy when she heard the news that she had won,” said her mum Shula who had to re-jig family arrangements to ensure Imogen could make her trip of a lifetime with Santa.
Forum Centre Manager Lawrence Allen said: “Imogen really enjoyed her day with Santa and I’m sure she enjoyed her prizes which included £20 worth of shopping vouchers and a slap up Christmmas Meal with her parents at the Forum’s own branch of McDonalds.
“She played her part in bringing Christmas to the Forum brilliantly and the crowds were delighted to see her smiling face.”
Forum staff expect to be busy in the build-up to the annual Christmas shopping rush and local charities are hoping that shoppers will find time to contribute to their annual ‘Toy and Tin’ appeal.
Mr Allen explained: “This is where Forum visitors can contribute a toy or a tin of food which are being collected for distribution to needy children and elderly people across the city.”
