Nov. 18, 2011 - PRLog -- GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc., a leading environmental and geotechnical consulting firm, prepared and secured air permitting that was a critical step in the sale and restart of Northern New Hampshire’s last paper mill.
The former Fraser Paper Mill in Gorham, NH shut down in October 2010 putting 240 people out of work. Recently the mill was purchased by Patriarch Partners, a global investment firm that specializes in purchasing distressed businesses and has been successful in reopening failing mills.
GZA prepared the air permit applications, air quality regulatory analysis, and air quality dispersion modeling for the mill to allow them the flexibility to combust natural gas and landfill gas in their power boilers. Patriarch Partners plans to convert the mill from oil to gas power resulting in significant savings as part of the plan to restore the mill to profitability.
“We are proud to have the opportunity to use our expertise and play a role in the restart of this mill which is so vital to the local economy,” said William R. Beloff, President and CEO of GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. “We applaud Patriarch Partners on their work in restoring the mill to profitability and bringing jobs back to Northern NH.”
