Nov. 18, 2011 - The orchestral work, "Legacy of Faith" by Joseph M. Martin, will be presented Sunday, November 20, 2011, at Vestal United Methodist Church on Main Street in Vestal, NY. C J Bowe is a featured soloist for the work. CJ Bowe holds a Masters Degree in Vocal Performance and is a seasoned musical veteran, singing semi-professionally across the Northeast and Southeast regions of the United States. The orchestra and chorus for "Legacy of Faith" will be directed by Jim Gleason. Performance times are at 8:30AM and 11:00AM. One of the selections is "A Prayer for Our Time", written by Joseph M. Martin in responce to the tragic events of September 11, 2001. Partial lyrics for the piece are: "Our God, to Thee we pray. Heal our nation, Lord, today. God of mercy, grant us courage. Give us peace. When evil draws its angry sword and seeks to sever freedom's cord, when death and darkness shake our faith in God's unfailing pow'r to save, Eternal Father, ever be our courage in the time of need." "Legacy of Faith" was orchestrated by Brant Adams with Narration by Pamela Martin. The public is cordially invited to attend the performance. There is no charge for admission.
