The Indian consumer is ready for imported food products

Nov. 18, 2011 - PRLog -- The changes announced by the FSSAI will reduce sampling costs, simplify stickering and accelerate the tracking of imports for perishables. With the new guidelines, FSSAI has provided instructions to its officers that will allow speeding up the overall transportation of goods to India.

According to the European Commission, the total value of EU food imports into India (agricultural and fish products) was approx. 270 million € in 2010. This figure is likely to rise tremendously. Till today, it is inevitable to avoid delays at the Indian harbors for customs clearance of F&B products. Loss of shelf live due to customs delay was a big concern to both the EU exporters as the Indian importers.”
