By: Megan Lawler During the summer, Green B.E.A.N. Delivery sponsored Metro United Way’s Walk United 2011. For every $100 raised, the company pledged to donate 2 pounds of fresh produce to Dare to Care. After raising $39,284, Green B.E.A.N. Delivery will donate 786 pounds specifically to Dare to Care’s Kid’s Café. In addition, in October 2011, the company committed to give 2 pounds of fresh produce for every pledge made during the Louisville Public Media NPR Fund Drive. The initiative resulted in 3,043 in pledges, equating to 6,086 pounds of fresh produce contributions. “Our produce donation couldn’t come at a better time with Thanksgiving just around the corner,” said Matt Ewer, president and co-founder of Green B.E.A.N. Delivery. “We’re incredibly thankful to have the ability to give back to an organization as important to the Louisville community as the Dare to Care Food Bank, and we’re also incredibly thankful for the generosity and support from local residents.” Green B.E.A.N.
