Shop Local, Make a Big Difference on Small Business Saturday, November 26

Nov. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- First there was Black Friday, then Cyber Monday. Now, there's another reason to shop! The 2nd annual Small Business Saturday is a new shopping day designed to support small businesses across the United States. This year, it falls on November 26, and Gooseberry Patch is helping to spread the word.

"Gooseberry Patch has its roots in small business, and in fact, our cookbooks and calendars are sold by  a network of thousands of small, independent gift & specialty retail shops," says Jo Ann Martin, co-founder of Gooseberry Patch, an independent cookbook publisher headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.

"Local shops are some of our favorite places to find unique and handcrafted gifts, which is why we're happy to support Small Business Saturday and encourage all of our customers and fans to 'shop small' this holiday season," says Vickie Hutchins, co-founder.
