Innovative PLC to device connectivity for Modbus

Nov. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- Comtrol Europe’s DeviceMaster-UP product range has been extended to provide Modbus specific connectivity products.
The Modbus/TCP firmware loaded onto the DeviceMaster platform is designed to provide maximum functionality and flexibility with an emphasis on supporting raw/ASCII devices.
The DeviceMaster-UP for Modbus simultaneously supports multiple Ethernet, Modbus/TCP and serial Modbus controllers as well as provides flexible connectivity to serial Modbus slave devices and both serial and Ethernet TCP/IP raw/ASCII devices. The detailed diagnostic capabilities greatly simplify setup and improve maintenance capabilities. Connecting a PLC, SCADA system, HMI, or OPC Server to a raw/ASCII device, such as a barcode scanner, or a Modbus serial device such as a temperature sensor is greatly simplified using the DeviceMaster UP.
The Modbus/TCP firmware provides advanced Raw/ASCII options such as filtering, command/response mode, peer-to-peer Modbus communications, and simultaneous connections to multiple Modbus controllers and/or Ethernet TCP/IP applications.
The DeviceMaster-UP for Modbus provides a solution in all circumstances in the Modbus arena. Whether you require simple connectivity or have a large scale Modbus networks or if you are communicating through Modbus/TCP, Modbus serial, Ethernet TCP/IP, or COM ports, the DeviceMaster-UP is an ideal solution. Whether your controller is a master or slave, local or remote; whether your Modbus slave device is Modbus/TCP, Modbus/RTU or Modbus/ASCII serial, is local or remote; or whether your Raw/ASCII device is connected via serial or Ethernet TCP/IP, the DeviceMaster-UP Modbus can supply the necessary connectivity.
With its wide temperature range (-37 to +74°C) The DeviceMaster-UP can be used in many harsh environmental conditions.
