RE: GOP Senate Debates
Dear fellow GOP Senate Candidates:
The Republican Presidential debates are giving Americans a chance to see the Presidential candidates in action and learn about their plans for the future of our nation.
A series of Republican U.S. Senate candidate debates will give Nebraskans a similar opportunity to see us in action and learn where we stand on the issues.
Therefore, I am requesting today, that the Republican candidates for U.S. Senate agree in principle to hold a minimum of six (6) debates, with a minimum of two in each of Nebraska’s congressional districts prior to the May 2012 GOP Primary Election.
As a beginning, I propose we accept the following organizations’
UNL ASUN & Lincoln Journal Star, February 13, 2012, Lincoln
Tea Party Patriots with moderator Scott Voorhees, April 7, 2012, Omaha
Norfolk Daily News, April 11, 2012, Norfolk
Nebraska Taxpayers for Freedom, April 15, 2012, Omaha
I would further suggest that one of the debates focus on what we need to do to improve the economy, another on entitlement reform, a third on cutting federal spending, and a fourth on national defense and foreign-policy.
Representatives of each hosting organization and our campaigns should approve the specifics of format, venue, moderators, and other details.
I look forward to your approval of this request and to the debates.
Yours truly,
Don Stenberg
