(Chicago - November 16, 2011)  Searching for a unique baby shower or gift for a newborn that is both fun and developmentally stimulating? Or perhaps a holiday gift for a mommy to be?
No need to search any further!  Two accordion-fold image books that have been created especially for babies 0-6 months - books lauded by area ophthalmologists, infant vision specialists, early childhood development experts have hit the market.

Award winning "Eye Games for Baby" and "Baby's First Stroller Book" are now available online at http://www.creativekidstuff.com as well as in Chicago area baby boutiques through Baby of Mind, the mommy-owned, Chicago based publisher.  Unlike most books targeting the broad age range of 0-3 years, each page of these books was created with the help of vision experts and is filled with images that benefit young infants during a time when eyesight is still developing, making them the ideal first books for baby's library - if they ever end up being put on the shelf.

According to Alison Galanopoulos, MD in the Neonatal Department at Comer Children's Hospital at the University of Chicago, “These baby products are truly original. The contrasting colors are exactly what a baby needs to develop vision. It is apparent that these innovative books were made specifically for the developing mind of a young baby."

The prestigious Creative Child Awards Program recently announced "Eye Games for  Baby" Gift Set as Top Choice 2011 in the area of Parenting Aids. The award falls in a  new category devoted to nurturing baby's visual development – a category made, according to Creative Child, just for Baby of Mind.  The two lightweight accordion-fold books are filled with high contrast visuals and patterns conceived with the sole purpose of encouraging baby's visual growth and curiosity. The books are pioneers in this area.

The Toy Man also bestowed these books with several awards for 2011 – 2012 including the eco-recognition Seal, Award of Excellence, Seal of Approval and editors Choice Award, providing assurance to consumers that the books contribute substantially to positive skill growth. Toy Man's website says: "The distinctive images contribute substantially to not just visual skill improvement, but infant alertness, spatial orientation, attention to object features & details, and endogenous attention development.... This type of imagery stimulates development of visual perception and acuity in addition to greater level of memory retention and expressive thought for infants."

These books are not only a top choice gift for babies, but can also provide peace of mind to every baby's caregiver.  For more information about the award winning books as well as accompanying wall art, visit http://www.babyofmind.com.  A baby movie has also been produced and is available for viewing at no charge. Developed to aid in eye tracking and forming visual expectations, many of the images appearing in the movie echo the books' images.

ABOUT BABY OF MIND:

Baby of Mind is an independent publishing company that provides innovative visual aids in the form of image books, videos and wall art for babies. Devoted to supporting developmentally appropriate images, the goal is to provide stimulation for babies as their mind and vision develops.  Baby of Mind's creation began in 2007 when new mother Cheryl Postrozny found herself shocked by a lack of selection in visual sensory outlets for newborns.  She thrust herself into Research and Development and teamed with experts in the field.  Future plans include the development of an online hub that will disseminate and distributes images and videos to entertain and stimulate babies – especially early infants.  In the case of colicky babies, the company envisions a virtual space that will act as a soothing respite for baby. Along with any videos that appear, there will be equal editorial coverage to encourage face-to-face infant/caregiver time - integral to baby's health.
