Nov. 16, 2011 - PRLog -- SEATTLE – November 16, 2011 – Restaurant owners agree that the most expensive seat in the house is an empty one. Foodcaching®, a new Windows Phone 7 social-shopping application released today, is helping local restaurants and other food establishments reach out to smartphone users and utilize on-demand mobile marketing to reduce unfilled tables while providing diners with fun, high-value, healthier and more targeted deals with incentives to return.

“Engaging mobile applications like Foodcaching make finding healthier foods and great dining experiences a social adventure for consumers. It makes it easier for them to find the specific dietary option they need such as vegan, diabetic or gluten free,” said Bill Crounse, MD, Senior Director, Worldwide Health at Microsoft. “Now local restaurants can market to Windows Phone 7 diners and the vibrant community of food loving Microsoft employees easily and in real-time to increase turns and sales; for example when the restaurant is having a slow night, wants to offer a special promotion, or needs to decrease inventory of a particular perishable food item.”

With Foodcaching, restaurants and food establishments—such as food trucks, coffee houses, smoothie shops, ice cream stores—no longer need to call coupon publishers, wait for a mail drop or radically discount their products. Unlike major deal sites, there is no cash-flow hit and customers can receive new promotions in real time. Restaurants easily enter their offer through Foodcaching’s secure website, which is then quickly broadcast through the app. When a deal is redeemed, the Foodcaching patent-pending system tracks and logs it to relieve busy staff from a tedious paperwork trail and management from cumbersome spreadsheets. Daily metrics are available to participating restaurants through the streamlined, restaurant-friendly analytics package.

The mobile app is free and immediately available on the Windows Phone 7 marketplace. The Foodcaching app is also available to iPhone and Android users. To sign up as a restaurant or food establishment, or to learn more about Foodcaching, visit www.foodcaching.com/business.
