Nov. 15, 2011 - PRLog -- Electronic gadgets expert reviews website GPSPlusPlus.com reviews Garmin’s latest product: the Garmin nuvi 1450LMT. After an analysis of its features and performance, price and accessories available, the expert rates this product with five stars.

The Garmin nuvi 1450LMT is a portable vehicle GPS which is increasingly gaining popularity in the US. This device is equipped with a five inch widescreen display and a battery life of three hours. The display is readable even in sunlight. It is a backlit TFT color touch screen with a 480 x 272 WQVGA pixel resolution. The device is installed with a preloaded City Navigator NT for the lower 48 states, Hawaii and Puerto Rico with almost six million points of interest. This GPS is sold with a free lifetime map and traffic updates, points of interest and navigation information. It contains advanced navigation features including voice-prompted directions at every turn, lane assist with junction view and fuel-saving ecoRoute. It also includes travel tools such as JPEG picture viewer, world travel clock, currency and measurement converters and a calculator.

GPSPlusPlus.com is a website dedicated to providing information and reviews about GPS devices. It praises the Garmin 1450LMT for various features. It commends the widescreen display for its brilliant colors as well as the large and easy to read images, which is of essence whilst driving. The website states that the free lifetime map updates is a good bonus since it has a value by itself of $90. The live traffic updates is another nifty feature. Jeremy of GPSPlusPlus.com explains that the customer can still listen to FM radio while receiving the traffic reports. Also, it automatically calculates the delay time because of traffic and adds it to the estimated time of arrival or chooses an alternate route if delay is significant. The lane assist is GPSPlusPlus.com’s favorite feature. Jeremy states that this feature alerts the user of upcoming lane changes ahead of time in order for the driver to be properly prepared. This avoids sudden last-minute lane changes which are dangerous to the driver and his passengers as well as to other cars. Other interesting features outlined by GPSPlusPlus.com are the city transit navigation for touring a city without the car, route planning and the ecoRoute which calculates the fuel consumption while improving the miles per gallon.

The only thing GPSPlusPlus.com suggests in its review is to purchase the Garmin Portable Friction Mount together with the Garmin nuvi 1450LMT since it does not block the view like the suction cup mount that comes with the device.
