Cinema Italian Style Opening Night Gala Reception at Osteria La Spiga

Nov. 15, 2011 - PRLog -- Osteria La Spiga will host the Opening Night Gala Reception of the Third Annual Seattle Italian Film Festival, Cinema Italian Style organized by SIFF and Cinecittà Luce and presenting films from acclaimed masters and cutting edge visionaries.

Cinema Italian Style is a celebration of new Italian cinema with a selection of the finest contemporary Italian films that have made an impact on both Italian and international audiences. Cinema Italian Style opening with Italy’s official Oscar® submission for Best Foreign Language Film, Emanuele Crialese's topical drama Terraferma, and closing with Nanni Moretti's papal crowd pleaser Habemus Papem, starring Michel Piccoli as an insecure Cardinal. In between is an array of Italy’s best films, including strong comedies and an excellent selection of powerful dramas. November 16–20, SIFF Cinema at the Uptown.

La Spiga will host the Opening Night Gala Reception following the film Terraferma by Emanuele Crialese, Italy’s official Oscar® Submission for Best Foreign Language Film. VIAGGI IN ITALIA (Journeys in Italy)
La Spiga in collaboration with Ingeniux is proud to present VIAGGI IN ITALIA (Journeys in Italy) Italian Cinema Film Sets (1941-1959) - A retrospective collection of photographs spanning 20 years of classic Italian directors at work (Fellini, Antonioni, Visconti, Rossellini, and more). Photos provided by Centro Cinema Citta’ di Cesena. Photos will be on display at the SIFF Film Center during the Taste of Italy. November 19-20 from 12:00pm to 5:00pm

La Spiga will be part of Taste of Italy a celebration of Italian food, wine, art and more. Taste of Italy -November 19-20 from 12:00pm to 5:00pm during the The Third Annual Seattle Italian Film Festival (Cinema Italian Style) at the SIFF Film Center Seattle Center, Northwest Rooms (formerly the Alki Room).
