By: Sarah Brereton, Limewash Media & Design Ltd This is the first time that the Annual Dinner has been held in an external location, and The Nucleus (http://www.thenucleus.uk.com) Organised and overseen by Maureen Pumfrey, the society were celebrating another successful year of traction engine events and activities. Maureen’s role as organiser is a continuation of the involvement and enthusiasm that her family have for EATES; Husband Robert joined the committee in the 1970s, and has served as President. This is very much representative of the friendly, family feel of this society, who welcome all fans and enthusiasts, families and friends to join their events every year. Highlights of the evening included the Grand Raffle with live music provided by ‘All of A Sudden’ who managed to entice all itchy feet to the dance floor, providing musical entertainment into night. Katherine Maguire, Park Manager at Chesterford commented of the evening: “We were delighted to host EATES annual dinner at The Nucleus – a particular highlight of which was the presence of the steam engine at the entrance to The Nucleus, to welcome guests as they arrived!” Chesterford Research Park (http://www.chesterfordresearchpark.com) provides a unique range of facilities and an excellent working environment for some of Cambridge’s leading R&D companies. Situated within the Park, The Nucleus is a versatile space that offers state-of-the- # # # Chesterford Research Park is being developed as a 250 acre low density scheme to provide high quality accommodation in an attractive environment for science and technology based companies of all sizes. To date, more than 240,000 sq ft of laboratory and R&D space has been let and occupied. Further phases of construction will extend the development to approximately 600,000 sq ft (56,500 sq m).
