Most recently, Zeliff was assistant vice president and commercial loan officer with Thomaston Savings Bank in his original hometown of Thomaston, Connecticut, where he specialized in market loan products focusing on commercial, construction lending, and construction rehabilitation. “One of the primary reasons we are so pleased to have Greg join our management team is that he is very familiar with the Greater Waterbury region. Having lived and worked in the area for most of his life, he knows the heart of this community and he is well-known throughout our geographic territory,” commented Kinne.
Firefighters Federal Credit Union has three branch locations in Waterbury, and is open to individuals who live, work, worship, or attend school in, and conduct business and other legal entities, in Waterbury, Naugatuck, Cheshire, Watertown, Wolcott, Plymouth, Prospect, Oakville, Thomaston, or Middlebury, Connecticut. “We are open to everyone and provide many of the same services as large banks” explained Kinne. “An individual does not need to be a firefighter, or a relative of a firefighter, to do their banking with our credit union.”
Zeliff added, “With the current Occupy Wall Street movement, we are seeing many people realizing the enormous financial gains they can acquire, at no extra charges, by putting their money into a credit union like FCU. As a community-chartered federal credit union, we handle individual as well as business checking, loans and other financial needs while our members gain interest on their investments, and rarely pay any fees to bank with us. We offer free debit cards, free online banking, free bill pay, free e-statements, free direct deposits and the first order of checks are free as well. It’s a win/win for every member of our credit union.”
Greg Zeliff comes to the Firefighters Credit Union with extensive experience in the banking industry as a commercial loan officer and business development professional with an impressive history of aggressive portfolio growth. In his new position, Zeliff is responsible for all lending activities including VISA credit cards, personal loans, auto loans, home equity loans, mortgages, collections, and debt repayment plans.
An active member of the Small Business Council for the Waterbury Regional Chamber (WRC), Zeliff also currently serves on the inaugural committee for Young Professionals of the Waterbury Region (YPOWR) formed through the WRC’s 2011 Leadership Greater Waterbury program from which Zeliff graduated in June 2011. Zeliff is also a member of the Finance Committee for the Wethersfield Historical Society in his hometown of Wethersfield, Connecticut.
