Mazda has shaken the automotive industry with their newest generation innovation SKY ACTIV, an engineering masterpiece using advanced technology comprised of high-compression, direct injected, 2.0 liter in-line four cylinder. This new concept delivers Mazda’s reputation for a sporty drive, power and performance with unparalleled fuel economy. Mazda is known for their unconventional approach to efficiency and technology,  “Sky’s the limit”  is taking on a whole new dimension.

The 2012 Mazda 3, already at the top of it’s class in fun, compact cars, is currently being sold with Sky-Activ-G engines. This powerful dynamic adds greater impact to Mazda’s renowned “zoom zoom” power and quicker shifting. At 12:1 compression the 2.0 Liter goes from 148 peak hp to 155 hp, with torque increasing 10 percent to a 148-lb-ft peak, rising 15% in mid and low ranges. The engine contains an electronically controlled oil pump that reduces friction, with a newly designed water pump and fins to cool the radiator. The fuel economy is 28 mpg city/  40 MPG highway.

Sky-Activ’s automatic contains a multiclutch torque converter that locks up often, and quicker. With a re- engineered six speed manual, you’ll get shorter throws and reduced friction and more efficient routing of torque throughout the gears. The electrohydraulic system makes for tight and direct steering. With a lighter chassis, this drive is smooth, fast while hugging corners tightly. Perfect for all driving types.
